This is a compilation of eight scholarly lectures delivered in Chennai (Madras) India, in 1926 by Mohammad Marmaduke Pickthall, as part of the famous “Madras Lectures on Islam” series.
Mohammad Marmaduke Pickthall, better known for his English translation of the Holy Quran, was born in Christian family and later, after deep study, embraced Islam and spent number of years in India in the service of the erstwhile Nizam of Hyderabad. In these lectures he gave a graphic picture of different aspects of Islamic culture and establishes its superiority over the Western Culture.
